It Takes a Village: Lucy's Path to Healing

My name is Lucy, and I’m living with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome—a chronic condition that causes daily pain, stiffness, dizziness, and and makes even simple tasks difficult. Recently, I lost my job and health insurance, which has made it nearly impossible to access the medical care and consistent therapy I need with previous providers. Without reliable income, I’ve been scraping by, relying on the kindness of friends, family, and a few generous followers, but most of the time I’ve had to manage on my own.

Right now, I urgently need new imaging and may require surgery and need extensive physical therapy soon. These treatments are essential for my health, but they also mean I’ll need to take time away from working so I can heal and regain strength. On top of medical bills and living expenses, I’m also working to continue my education in Mass Communications. This field will allow me to create meaningful content and pursue a career that fits my medical needs and passions.
