This is Lucy. She will be 6 years old in September. I got her at 8 weeks old; she was only 2 lbs. Now at 10 lbs, she loves my homemade healthy food and lots of fresh fruit for snacks. She is the most loving, playful, sweet, cuddly, and gentle pup. Everyone she meets gets the same love and attention from her.

She got out the front door Sunday afternoon, and we didn’t realize it. It was the worst night thinking of the little dog out there alone in the humidity, lost, trying to find her way home. She had many times taken herself for a walk around the block but always saw me following behind, and she went straight home after her adventure.

It was a worrying night for me thinking about her.

I was relieved the next morning when I got a call from South Suburban Humane that they had Lucy safe but with injuries. She had traveled far from home, and I was told she got hit by a car. This is a tough 10 lb puppy. The only injury is a swollen eye so bad it needs to be removed.

I ask for your help with medical bills so she can continue to live her best years with no medical problems.
