Lucy Marcos has been chosen to represent the Children’s Alopecia Project (CAP) at the Coalition of Skin Diseases Hill Day in Washington, DC (May 17-19). As a young advocate living with Alopecia Areata, Lucy will be sharing her story and journey, raising awareness and advocating for others who face similar challenges. This is a special opportunity for Lucy to make her voice heard and to help others understand the impact of living with alopecia.

Even with modern healthcare, there are still many areas where health insurance does not provide coverage for those with alopecia. Often, medical systems consider it a cosmetic issue rather than a chronic disease, leaving families to cover important expenses on their own. Lucy’s participation in this event is not only an honor, but also a chance to bring attention to these gaps in care and support.

The funds raised will help cover travel, meals, snacks, and any needs Lucy and her family may have during their trip to Washington, DC. Every donation, message of encouragement, or prayer will help Lucy feel supported and remind her that she is not alone.
