Hi, I'm Lucuma

In 2023, I worked in a business located in a very dangerous area, living with constant risk of violence (someone was killed on the next street). Working 12-hour daily shifts wasn’t the hardest part; what truly affected me was having to stay there six days a week, almost like living in a bunker. It was a family business, and I was constantly told, “This will all be yours someday, so you better do what I say.” Over time, I realized I was being manipulated and mentally worn down.

In 2024, the business made around 12 million, yet everything began to collapse. Alcoholism took over my family member who ran the business. He started drinking every day and became aggressive, acting as if money justified everything. Workers were worried, but some became indifferent. I wanted to help, but the only person who could teach me was often drunk, sleeping in a car in front of everyone.

Eventually, the business failed. I was dragged into debts that damaged my credit history—money I never used but am now responsible for. Conflicts at home escalated: drunken nights, threats, attempts to break doors or destroy my laptop. I value what little I own; they did not. I saw phones destroyed in tantrums, cars lost to alcoholism, and a family destroyed for reasons I still don’t understand.

I left home because I was living a life filled with problems that were never mine. My plan was simple: get a car, work as a driver, and flip cars to survive. But I was never allowed to use the family vehicles. I was always told “No, don’t insist,” even though they didn’t have a driver’s license. Eventually, they crashed one car and were injured. Today, none of the family cars exist anymore—one was completely destroyed, and the others were lost.

I moved again, this time to a very small room, just to survive. In 2025, I had to replace essential PC equipment that was damaged over time. This year has been extremely hard. I fell into depression, living alone, without a job, and with no money—literally surviving day by day.

Regarding my family, they eventually scammed me. They took out a loan in my name and used me as a guarantor. If they pass away, I am legally responsible for that debt. I was just a worker doing 12-hour shifts from Monday to Saturday, yet I carry the consequences.

I have completely cut ties and now I just want to move forward. My goal is to buy a Toyota Corolla and start working as a driver to rebuild my life with dignity. I don’t have any savings, and reaching this goal alone has been extremely difficult.
In summary, my family situation has changed to the point where I can no longer truly call it a family. I don’t have many people in real life I can turn to for help. My only wish is to live in peace and regain stability as a dignified and responsible person. To achieve this, I need to recover my financial situation. Any support would mean a great deal to me and would truly help me move forward.

Thanks for reading.

Big thanks,
Lucuma.
