Help Support My Sister’s Recovery

My sister has been in the hospital for 10 weeks, fighting through an incredibly difficult and life-threatening medical journey. She suffered from ischemic bowel disease, which caused part of her colon to die and become gangrenous. This led to the removal of a large portion of her intestines due to a blockage. The complications caused her to become septic, and her kidneys began to fail. She went into cardiac arrest twice and was placed in a medically induced coma for 3 weeks while intubated.

After waking up, it seemed like she was improving, and she was moved to a rehab facility. Unfortunately, she has recently been readmitted to the ICU because she now requires dialysis seven days a week instead of the usual three. She also needs a full-face BiPAP mask to breathe, as she cannot breathe on her own without it.

She is currently battling pneumonia in her left lung and has two stomach abscesses that require ongoing care. It was also discovered that she suffered carbon monoxide poisoning, likely from too much oxygen being administered at the rehab or hospital, which worsened her breathing issues. Thankfully, after completing seven days of dialysis, she is now back to three days a week and is waiting to see if she will return to a rehab facility to continue her recovery. She still has at least three more weeks of treatment ahead.

This has been an overwhelming and costly ordeal for our family. We are asking for your support to help cover medical bills, ongoing treatments, and rehabilitation costs as she fights to regain her health and independence.
