Lucky Hooligan - Support Charles Leith's Debut Documentary

Hello, everybody. My name is Charles.

"Lucky Hooligan" is a documentary feature about a wandering musician who drifts through Appalachia and the Rust Belt, untethered and estranged from the family he once knew. Misunderstood by those around him, he possesses a mind that may seem slow to others but is startlingly poetic, revealing moments of unexpected brilliance. The film follows him as he navigates the small struggles of everyday survival, his music being etched by the world around him, shaped by both its unforgiving presence and the subtle rhythms of a life lived on the margins.

This documentary is primarily being self-funded, but there are a few costs of production that will be out of my own personal reach. The goal is to tour this feature documentary at film festivals and to hopefully work out a distribution deal when all is said and done, so I have to pay experts to cover my weaknesses and enhance the film in a way I wouldn't be able to do on my own.

I have already begun production on this documentary. I am shooting this documentary on a Lumix GH6 camera with a Rode shotgun mic. It's a gonzo-style documentary.

Breakdown of costs:

$3,000 - Pay the documentary subject for his time
$2,000 - Composer/Producer to score the documentary
$1,000 - Master colorist to clean up my color editing
$1,000 - Master sound expert to clean up my sound editing
$3,000 - Pay myself for the 1-2 months it will take to edit the film

$10,000 = Total

If you do choose to donate, be sure to use your real name so I can include you in the credits of the documentary. I am not taking corporate donations or sponsors for this film because I want this to be as raw as I can possibly make it, with no big money influence ruining the film. I very much appreciate you taking the time to read all this regardless of whether or not you choose to donate. If you don't donate, please consider sharing this link with your family and friends. This is my debut feature documentary, and I will take any help I can get. Thank you so much.
