Support Lucio and Irene's Fight Against Lymphoma

Hi Friends and family,

In July of 2024, we found out my Classical Hodgkin's Lymphoma was back. I was first diagnosed in 2023, and we thought I had beat it. Unfortunately, it came back. Since being diagnosed again in July, I’ve completed 4 rounds of chemotherapy to hopefully help me prepare for a stem cell transplant.

I’m going to have to go down to stay in Rochester for a month and a half to two months. For a month of that, my wife will have to move down with me to be my primary caregiver during the stem cell transplant process. However, this means that both of us will be out of work with very minimal income coming in. We also found out that our insurance company doesn’t help with lodging options during this time, and with losing both of our incomes, I’m sure you can understand the financial difficulties it will put us in. I am starting this GoFundMe to help raise funds to get lodging down in Rochester during our stay and to help alleviate some stress on my wife when she comes home and starts working as I will be out of work for a minimum of 2 months after my transplant. Mayo does provide lodging options; however, they do require daily fees that, with both of us being out of work, will be difficult for us to pay. Any money donated will go towards lodging options and food and then towards bills that we won’t be able to pay being out of work. We aren’t anticipating needing much help once I go back to work (hopefully after the first of the year) and we are both bringing in an income, so any excess funds will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to help other families in need.
