Please help support our friend and family member Lucie

On Tuesday April 16, 2024, Lucie went in to what she thought would be a routine angiogram. When the doctor looked at her arteries he could not proceed with the procedure because there was significant blockage. He told her she only had about 6 months to live unless she would agree to have open-heart surgery. She was faced with a very difficult (and urgent) decision about her next steps.

After soul searching and thinking through her limited options, she just knew she had a lot more to give in this life and more she wanted to accomplish. For those reasons she decided to move forward with the open-heart surgery. She is an adopted/surrogate grandmother and she wanted to be able to share in the joy of watching the girls grow up.

This diagnosis came on the heels of what we all experienced the last few years including the pandemic and her husband Cyril’s dementia diagnosis. As you may know, Lucie left her job in drug and alcohol recovery counseling to take care of her husband. Their savings was used to take care of him during that time until he passed away in August of 2019.

Subsequently, Lucie started her own business from home and did well with it for many years until she used up their remaining savings. She now finds herself in need of some assistance to take care of herself until she can fully recover from her surgery which will take many weeks of rehab and months of long-term recovery.

Lucie wants to continue to be of service to others. She wants to finish her biography that everyone is asking her to write. She just needs some help right now to get her through this very difficult time. She needs help making her monthly financial commitments until she can get fully back on her feet.

I am humbly asking for your help to lessen the financial burden for Lucie while she tries to focus on her recovery from open-heart surgery.
