Support Lucian's Urgent Medical Needs

My son Lucian is in great need of a surgery as soon as possible. He received medical care in Springfield, Illinois, and in St. Louis. Despite all the issues he has been having, they did an endoscopy on him and a swallow study, and I was told everything was fine, knowing it wasn't actually. We recently went to Cincinnati Children's Hospital to see their G.I. team and for some testing and ended up being admitted. Upon being admitted and having 4 procedures and an endoscopy, we learned that my son's thal fundoplication is completely undone, and part of his stomach is sitting in his esophagus. It's also been found that his esophagus has no motility. This has to be repaired for him to regain any quality of life. Currently, he's experiencing G.I. bleeding from the acid hitting his stomach that's migrated up into his esophagus, coughing, and choking on his own saliva. He cannot lie down and has been having to sleep sitting up. I have had almost 3 weeks of sleepless nights. Insurance covered the procedures and him being admitted. But I was contacted today by the physician's office telling me they were putting in the referral for the surgery to see if they could get it approved through insurance. They have told me that if it cannot be covered, they have payment plans and I can get some help with the expenses, but it wouldn't come close to covering it all. I have worked two jobs the last 3 years to make sure that he has what he needs but have been unable to work the last few weeks due to all of his medical complexities, and this is the last thing I thought I would ever have to do. Ask for help. But I am going to need help with the expense of staying in Ohio, the cost of whatever I have to pay towards his surgery which has not been determined yet, gas, hotels, food, and whatever else we may endure while on this crazy ride we are on. If anyone who sees this is willing to help, my family and I would be very grateful. I have all the documents to back everything up and I am willing to upload them so people don't think this is a scam. Please help me help Lucian. This last trip to Ohio gave us the answers we have been looking for, for quite some time now. We just didn't expect to get hit with something quite like this despite knowing we were going to be facing medical complexities. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
