Hi all.
If you know us, you know that our dog Luce has been the light of our life for 7 years and has very much been treated as our first child. We adopted her after a rescue found her wandering on the streets, having clearly had a tough life in her first year. Despite this, she has also had the unique spirit that seems to charm everyone that she meets.
Luce has always had different health struggles, but this past year has been a particular struggle. Last summer, they found a lump near her knee. They got it removed but warned us that because it was near a previous surgery site and the knee joint, they couldn’t remove as much tissue as they would normally like to ensure a confident recovery. Flash forward to several months later, it has come back with a vengeance and has grown at several times the rate of the previous growth.
The specialists have determined the only option to prolong Luce's life and improve the quality of life is to remove the whole leg.
Normally, we don’t feel comfortable asking for help, but due to our financial situation (baby, medical bills, inflation), we are asking for a hand in paying for Luce’s procedure. We understand not everyone is in a position to give, and appreciate any support in getting our girl taken care of. If there is any additional money, it will go to improve Luce’s aftercare.
So please help us keep Luce as healthy as possible to keep being our best friend and a great big sister to our son Des.
