Hi, my name is Lucas.
I’m usually the strong, quiet one in my family, but right now, I need to share my story.
Over the past week, I’ve been in and out of the hospital because I wasn’t feeling well. I was so tired, and I didn’t want to eat or play with my brother George like I usually do. Mom noticed something was really wrong. The doctors found a mass inside me, and although they tried antibiotics to avoid surgery, it didn’t help. Today, I had to have surgery to remove it.
I’ve also become anemic from losing so much blood leading up to my surgery, so the doctors are working hard to keep me strong while I recover. We’re waiting on my pathology results to find out if the mass was benign. Depending on what they find and how I heal, the doctors said I might need a second surgery and more testing in the near future.
Mom didn’t expect any of this to happen. I know she worries about me and the bills piled up quick, but she’s been doing everything she can to keep me comfortable and cared for. I miss being at home with her and George. He’s probably acting tough, but I know he’s worried about me too.
When I’m feeling well, I love making TikToks with George to raise awareness about the world and add some humor and hope when possible. But lately, I’ve had to take some time off to focus on getting better. I hope I can get back to it soon and keep making people smile.
I know times are hard for everyone, and we appreciate any donation, no matter how small, will help and get closer to coming home to my family and paying for the surgery, follow-up care, and any other treatments I might need to heal.
Thank you for reading my story and caring about me. Your kindness means the world to me and my mom.
With gratitude and purrs,
Lucas
