Hello, my name is Luca. I am a 25 year old trans man who was recently a victim of an aggressive hate crime. For my own safety, I am raising money to help me relocate. As things get scarier for trans people and after this traumatizing experience, I am certain that I can no longer live here and feel safe. The goal that I set is only so that I can feel secure in finding housing, covering flights, and figuring everything out. I do not expect it to be met. I may have to leave most of my belongings behind, including my vehicle. In addition, this will leave me out of work for a bit. Thank you for all of your support. I do not expect anyone to donate—there is no pressure here. I am going through a lot and this has affected my finances substantially. I will continue advocating for trans people no matter where I am. Despite this terrifying situation, I will not be going stealth. I am even more motivated now to bring attention to what is happening to trans people in America.

I have found the location where I will be moving and it’s in California. I have a trusted adult who lives in the state who will help me on my journey in finding a job. I will be leaving with none of my belongings. I will have to save for a car once I’m there, finding a job, and paying to secure housing. This is going to be quite expensive and with my current part-time job here, I have no way of paying my rent and bills while saving for such a drastic move and change. In addition, I do not have health care.
