Quick update, original story below:

We scheduled neutering surgery and also the meeting date with the rescue to take his photos.

Unfortunately, his neutering procedure was cancelled after his pre -op blood test came back, showing serious problems with his liver.

We rushed him to the vet and he gave a medicine for Luca for one month. After that we have to run a comprehensive blood test and ultrasound for him to find out what exactly is going on with his liver. Please see attached estimate for all his tests and procedures.

Original story:

This is a dog we found last weekend running loose at Red Morton park.

We learned that this beautiful dog ( we call him Luca now ) was ABANDONED by the family that had him for 8 years, at Red Morton park on october 12th.

Now we are in a very stressful situation, because we absolutely can’t drop him off at any shelter ( he will be killed ) and we can’t adopt him for different reasons.

Not only that - he is not neutered, has no chip and needs all the vaccines.

We applied for few rescues just to get “no, we are full “ answer.

Only one small local rescue ( Angels furry friends rescue ) agreed to help, BUT we have to take financial responsibility for Luca’s neutering , vaccines, exams etc . and definitely continue to foster him.

Simply because the rescue now is not in good financial situation

( had some shelter dog with expensive surgery ).

We want to move forward as soon as possible with neutering so hopefully Luca will find a new family, but it’s a lot. The waiting list at SPCA is long, same with Pets in need. Regular vets are expensive. The total amount we have to spend on Luca will be between 800$-1000$ for his basic medical needs only .
