Support Lucas' Fight and Recovery

Hello,

My name is Angela Ayre. I am the Manager of the Ramada Northern Grand Hotel & Conference Centre, in Fort St. John, BC. Lucas Clavel is the son of one of our hardworking team members, Shad Olarte. This GoFundMe was set-up to help Shad and his family with the financial stress of taking time off work and to help cover cost of travel to and from Vancouver, where Lucas is under going chemotherapy.

Lucas is an energetic and joyful 12-year-old who loves making people laugh and enjoys playing sports like basketball and soccer. Earlier this year, Lucas was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called Mesenchymal Chondrosarcoma. Despite this, his positive spirit never wavered.

In May, Lucas underwent a critical surgery to remove a tumor from his spine, followed by six weeks of radiation. He is now in the midst of an intense 7 to 9-month chemotherapy journey, all while receiving care at BC Children’s Hospital.
