Hello everyone. We’re Jesse and Chris, close friends of Lucas Doytier, and we are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Lucas and his immediate family.
On Thursday, January 8th, while riding his scooter, Lucas was struck by a car on US-1. He was rushed to the hospital and sustained multiple serious injuries to his body and head. He has since undergone two emergency surgeries and has remained in the ICU. While doctors were able to stabilize him, he faces a long and uncertain road to recovery.
This fundraiser is intended to help relieve the overwhelming financial burden caused by:
- Medical and hospital bills
- Rehabilitation and ongoing care
- Lost income due to time away from work for Lucas and his family
- Legal and administrative expenses related to the accident
At this time, Lucas’s family does not yet have access to full police reports or details related to the accident, as Lucas must first be able to provide consent. So because of this, legal support will be needed to properly seek justice.
If you know Lucas, you know what an incredible, selfless, and adventurous human being he is, as well as the impact he’s had on his friends, family, and South Florida’s performing arts community. Lucas shines on stage as a talented singer/guitarist, but the beautiful thing about Lucas is how supportive he is off stage; he is always thinking of his fellow performers, constantly uplifting artists through various performance and networking opportunities he’s created with his company, Intracoastal Entertainment. Through Intracoastal Entertainment, Lucas and his business partner, Tony Dark, held many open mics and events across South Florida. For those who don’t know Lucas, you may know his work. Lucas is the creative heartbeat that helped build South Florida’s Live Arts scene— from Art Walk Fort Lauderdale to Rebel Wine Bar, LauderAle, Karma Kava, Riverside Market, Tarpon River, Flamingo Flea, 511 Bar & Lounge, and the Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach Improvs, he creates spaces where artists, engineers, and performers feel seen. If you’ve ever been to an Intracoastal event, you know how much he cares for his community.
Last year, Lucas became a member of IATSE Local 500 to pursue his goals/dreams in production management, working behind the scenes across South Florida venues such as Revolution Live, The Adrienne Arsht Center, and the Broward Center. His deep appreciation for his IATSE brothers and Revolution Live family, as well as his dedication to live performance is unwavering. This level of dedication made him the youngest production manager in Revolution Live history. He wants every performer who works with him to feel the same excitement he does, and he never fails in achieving that. Doesn’t matter if your show was for two people or two hundred, he treated every show like it was sold out.
A big reason behind Lucas’s kindness and compassion stems from his amazing family. The Doytiers are some of the sweetest and most supportive people we know. They have been there for us through so many hardships; always treating us like we’re a part of the family. Whether it was spending holidays with them, or bunkering down for a hurricane, they would drop everything at a moment's notice to help us and others. We want to make sure that Lucas and his family feel the same love and support they’ve given us for years, so we ask to please consider donating whatever you may be able to give at this time.
Contributions at ANY amount are deeply appreciated. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means more than you know.
This fundraiser is being run by us as trusted friends to support Lucas and his family during his recovery. All funds raised will be transferred directly to Lucas Doytier (or to a bank account designated by his family) and will be used solely to support his medical care and recovery-related needs. If funds are received by us first, they will be promptly and fully delivered to Lucas and/or his family and used only for expenses outlined below.
Thank you for your love, support, and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
