Support Lucas' Battle with Transverse Myelitis

Hi Everyone!

My sweet, rambunctious, fun loving grandson was suddenly diagnosed with a rare condition called Transverse Myelitis.

He is currently at Helen DeVos and will be for a few more days. The prognosis is not yet determined. He was at preschool on Thursday, and suddenly couldn't stand, walk etc. He went to Munson and was sent to Grand Rapids. After discharge, he will need to go to Mary Free bed to hopefully regain some function.

Right now, he is on IV steroids which will hopefully stop the spread. He can't walk or sit up on his own. We're not sure what will happen. Worst case scenario, he will have permanent weakness and inability to use his legs. We were told today he cant eat, as they expect with progression he may need to be vented. (All he wants is the goldfish grandma and papa brought him!). So far, so good.

His mom recently was able to secure housing (After being on a waitlist for 4 years!!) for herself, Lucas and his 5 year old brother Levi. She will not leave Lucas! Which means she is not able to work. We are hoping for donations to cover living expenses, gas, food and hotels for the duration of this process.

If you are unable to donate, I totally understand! However, a prayer costs no money and will do just as much good.
