With as chaotic as the last few years have been for us, our family received some of the most unexpected news Monday night. Lucas has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) which is a type of blood cancer that originates in the bone marrow. Monday night we went straight to Bangor and were sent straight from Bangor to Boston by Tuesday. This has been a lot on all of our family where we have three kiddos at home who are missing him an indescribable amount, and we are five months pregnant with a little girl due at the end of February. Lu begins treatment tomorrow morning and will be staying in Boston for chemotherapy treatment for at least the next month, where family will be traveling back and fourth to help support Lucas and take care of the kids who are staying back at home. We have also decided it would be safest to cancel our baby shower while we work towards getting Lu healthy but will be posting a baby registry over the next few days. The next five months after his first month of treatment will be spent finishing chemotherapy in Bangor twice a day for 5 days a week. Any donations towards medical bills, gas and traveling, etc. for our family over the next few months are greatly appreciated. We appreciate any and all positive thoughts and prayers during this time! We are all staying extremely positive and hoping to have him healthy and back home with our kiddos as soon as possible.
