Help Support Luann's Family While she's in Hospice with ESLD
I'm making this for Luann Rose. As some know, Luann started getting sick at the beginning of March with what we all thought was a cold. By March 16th, things took a horrible turn. That's when she was admitted into Tri-Hendersonville Hospital. At the time, we were informed she was septic and had DKA. After 10 days, she was released on March 24th. She had follow-ups with her PCP, where they were treating her for being diabetic and for retaining fluids. We all thought things were going to be okay with time and healing. She was home and what we thought was slowly getting better.
But on April 27th, she started getting really confused and showing signs something was wrong again. We finally got Luann to agree to go to the hospital that night at Tri-Star NorthCrest Hospital. They transferred Luann to Tri-Star Centennial, where they had her in the ICU. After a few days, they moved her to a regular room. During this time, the doctors still hadn't told us what was going on with her again, until her husband Andy got the phone call Saturday, May 3rd, from one of the doctors that Luann was in end-stage liver failure. We were told to start looking into hospice for her.
Fast forward a week, and after trying everything we could to see if she could have a transplant and any other options we may have, we have been made to bring Luann home with hospice. So, I'm creating this to try and help with the financial hardship this has put on Andy. As bills are piling up and more keep coming, Andy hasn't been able to work much since March, needing to be home with Luann. This has made a two-income home go to barely one since March. Now that Luann is home, Andy and family will have to provide round-the-clock care for Luann, meaning Andy will be out of work while caring for his wife. They also have two sons Jonathan (16) and Ethan (9) Andy is providing for and trying to keep them busy as we go through this devastating time.
For the ones that know us, asking for help doesn't come easy. Anything is and will be greatly appreciated, even if it's praying for a miracle, as we could use that the most. I will add updates as time goes by. Until then, I just want to say thank you to everyone.
