Lieutenant LaFollette has proudly served as a professional firefighter in the Austin area for 19 years. She was recently diagnosed with cancer and is now facing not only the physical and emotional toll of her illness, but also the growing burden of medical and living expenses. Despite her years of service and dedication, workers’ compensation in the state of Texas does not recognize uterine and cervical cancer as presumptive cancers, leaving her without the support many would expect to be available to a firefighter in her situation. As treatment continues and expenses mount, the financial strain has become overwhelming. This fundraiser is intended to help ease that burden, allowing Lieutenant LaFollette and her family to focus on comfort, dignity, and time together—rather than unpaid bills.
