Help NYSCO Lt. Bernhard Altner and His Family Rebuild After a Devastating House Fire.

This morning, our community was shaken by the news that Lt. Bernhard Altner and his family experienced a devastating fire that completely destroyed their home. While the loss is heartbreaking, we are all incredibly grateful that Bernie, his wife, and their two young daughters (ages 3 and 18 months) all made it out safely.

The Altner family is now facing the unimaginable task of rebuilding their lives from scratch. They have lost everything—their home, clothing, furniture, and all of their personal belongings and treasured keepsakes. This situation is made even more difficult as they are also expecting a new baby soon. While they have secured temporary housing, they have a long and difficult road ahead.
