Help L, a Brooklyn Eviction Defense member, fight her immigration case while providing for herself and her son!

L is a single mother to a young child, and an immigrant. She has lived in Brooklyn for nearly a decade. She is at risk of being detained, deported, and separated from her son who has never known another home. For the sake of their security, she is not named in this GoFundMe.

Due to the Federal Government’s mass deportation campaign and underfunding by the City and the State, legal aid organizations are overstretched and L has struggled to get free legal representation. She recently lost her job, and cannot afford to pay legal fees, including fees to file necessary immigration paperwork.

L has fought for her neighbors and believes in the power of a tenant union. Because she has showed up for us, BED members are now showing up for her. Please donate so that we can help L hire a lawyer to fight her immigration case and pay filing fees for legal applications.
