My name is Loyd. By trade, I am an audio engineer and stagehand. At the beginning of November 2025, all of my work/income was wiped out for the foreseeable future. I went to the hospital with an infection in my foot and expected minimal treatment and some prescriptions. Instead, I found out I’m diabetic and had to have half of my foot amputated.
This means I cannot currently do any manual labor, which is almost always a necessary part of my work. In addition to that, I’ve had to get on Medicaid for medical bills, and Medicaid caps my income ridiculously low. I cannot currently pay my bills on what Medicaid allows me to make, even if I could go earn the money. I’m working on alternative ways to make money and working on other forms of assistance, but in the meantime, my savings will dry up quickly and I’ll be left in a situation where every single dollar will matter.
The goal of this GoFundMe is to help bridge the gap and hopefully to use the funds generated to set up a trust that will allow me to put income into, and pay for things from. I’m still learning about the details of how to do that. Literally any donation, no matter its size, will be extremely helpful. And of course, even if you can’t donate, I’d appreciate this being shared far and wide.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about my situation. I appreciate any and all help I receive more than anyone can imagine. A new normal will be coming for me, but the road there is terrifying, and this sort of help is a shield from the things that are terrifying about it. Thank you.
