My name is Teresa (Sandy) Casarez-Amaya. Unfortunately, my brother Loyd Casarez unexpectedly passed away on November 8, 2025, at 12:50 pm. He was rushed to the hospital and ended up in a coma. The family decided to pull the plug when the doctor said he was in a lot of pain and no recovery was in sight.

Loyd Casarez was born in Phoenix, AZ, on October 8, 1958. He attended Arizona School for the Deaf and Blind. He was known as a sweet person, cared about family and friends, and had a great sense of humor. He loved teasing everyone. Loyd loved going to NFL gatherings with his predeceased brother Jesus Casarez. Loyd loved being with his surviving sisters, Teresa (Sandy) Casarez-Amaya, Adela Mota, Antonia Almada, and surviving brother Martin Esparza.
