Hi, it's been a while!! After a lot of generous support on our last fundraiser, my girlfriend and I were successfully able to relocate ourselves and our belongings to a new state where we were able to find an apartment! It's been an ordeal getting here, getting things set up and unpacked little by little- there's still a box of sweaters being used for an end table in our little living room.
My girlfriend and I were able to pick up full-time jobs, and even managed to scrimp together enough to begin leasing our own car, which was necessary with how expensive ubering to work was! We've been very carefully managing our income as the bills began to stack up, and it looked like we were gonna be able to keep our heads above the water, with both of us working 35+ hours each week. Unfortunately, two things have happened sort of simultaneously:
The third roommate on our lease had several personal family issues crop up, and is now moving back in with her family, so we’ll need to make up her portion of the rent.
I was also just let go from the second job I picked up that was giving me the majority of my hours. Without that income, I’m currently only getting 10 hours per week from my original job. I’ve already been putting in applications and set up a couple interviews, but we still need to look for immediate solutions for affording the full amount of our rent going forward, and making up my lost income in order to cover the rest of our expenses.
So, opening up fundraising again! The missing share of rent is $750, and our utilities are ~$175 per month as well. Any extra would go a long way to covering our other bills, and every little bit helps us to be able to afford gas to get to work and dinner every night. Thank you to the community once again for supporting two broke transgender lesbians and our cat <3.
7/25 Edit: I've already managed to pick up a second job at the grocery store down the street from our apartment, so we should be roughly back on track in terms of income, but I did miss out on ~ two weeks of work while i was applying and interviewing places. We're going to need help with our August bills for sure, as we'll only have enough to maybe cover our utilities and maybe a portion of the rent this upcoming payday. We have two weeks til then, so please please share this around, and thank you so much for your continued support.
7/28 Edit: Doing some rough estimates based around our expected paychecks coming in Friday, and it looks like we'll need to raise ~1800, the majority of this is needed to cover rent, as that's the first thing due by the 7th!
