LOVE BITES! — A STUDENT FILM

Layla is a vampire. She’s been a 20-year-old girl for more than 100 years, and she has never missed a party.

She can’t. They’re her favorite place for dinner.

Layla has never minded eating humans, but her social nature has led to an unfortunate consequence: people—human people—want to be her friends.

Now she has to grapple with a question she’d never thought she’d have to answer: once she gets too comfortable having friends, what happen’s when they’re all gone?

It’s dramatic, campy, sweet, and sour. Full of color and flashing lights, this film tells the story we’re all familiar with: what happens when someone takes advantage of those around them for too long? Can they change their ways for someone they care about? Or is selfishness all-consuming, and sooner or later will bite them back?

Where is the money going?

While our setup is relatively simple, there are a few critical items we need help with.

The $500 goal will cover:

Craft services/snacks for our 17 cast and crew members, as well as several extras (40%)

Renting a shooting location (40%)

Special effects materials and production design (%25)

Transportation (5%)

I will be paying for many of our expenses out of pocket, as this is a very important project for me, which I truly wish to be realized. These donations would help cover the things I cannot afford on my own, and help my team and I create the best film we can.

All donors will be given a special thanks in the credits, and any donation above $100 will have you credited as an executive producer!

We hope to submit this film to festivals, and will be releasing it online once completed!

Why This Matters to Me

This project has been in the works for a very long time, and finally getting to step into production has been a dream come true for me.

This is not only a class project, but a massive portfolio piece that would show off the strengths of every member in the cast and crew. I wanted to push myself with a project that relied heavily on the visual design, and not just the script.

“Love Bites!” is colorful, gory, and dressed to the nines. Unfortunately, that can get expensive.
