Support Lou's Recovery After Brain Surgery

Hello Everyone,

I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of my best friend Lou, who has been through a lot in the past 5 years. Lou recently underwent his second brain surgery for a benign tumor. Although the large mass was successfully removed this time around,

It was a more complex surgery leaving

him in need of more assistance and facing a long road to recovery. Lou has been at Gaylord Specialty Hospital getting stronger in preparation to finally come home.

As many of you know, Lou has been an avid triathlete for 10 years. Just 1 month before surgery, he had a personal best time competing at Ironman 70.3 Western Mass and just 72 hours before surgery, had another personal best time at Litchfield Hills Olympic Distance Triathlon as well.

As Lou's friend (aka younger sister) I am asking for your support in helping cover the large medical expenses and rehabilitation costs associated with this long journey to recovery. Any amount will help lessen the burden and help him focus on getting stronger and getting back to the active lifestyle he loves.

UPDATE 7/28/2024

Went to see Lou yesterday, and he will be coming home Saturday with some extra assistance needed. Family and friends will be there to take care of him and bring to all Medical and Therapy appts. Lou is up and walking with minimal assistance so he is able to safely go home.

From the surgery, Lou has some moutians to climb such as speech deficits, swallowing issues and balance. Lou also lost his hearing in his left ear and partially blind in his left eye. It’s been three weeks since his surgery and only time will tell, but we will be there for him every step of the way. Thanks again for all your generous donations.

*Update* 7/30/2024

Insurance has decided last min that lou will be Discharged home this am. It was originally for Sat but thats insurance for ya. Lou’s family and friend's will be there to support him every step of the way.
