Lou is the kind of friend who changes your life just by being in it.
She's a dedicated teacher, tutor, and mother, and is the kind of friend who checks on you when you're sick or sad, or when you are just having a rough day. She brings you the little things to lift your spirits, remembers the details that matter, and finds ways to make everyone feel included and seen. She's the reason so many of us are friends - most everyone is 2 degrees separation from Lou. She doesn't just invite people to events, she creates space for connection, laughter and belonging.
She inspires us to explore more of the world we live in, to appreciate beauty in the everyday, and to show up for others the way she always has.
Recently, Lou was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The doctors are telling her that it is cancer. As she begins her treatment journey - including brain surgery and months of healing - she's facing an uncertain road ahead. Due to medical restrictions, Lou is also unable to drive or bike for the next 3 months. This means that she's unable to work this summer, and this also means that her future as a teacher, starting in September, is now unclear.
Those of us who know and love Lou are coming together to support her the way she's supported so many of us. We wish we could take the pain away, carry the burden for her, but what we can do is help ease the financial pressure so she can focus more fully on her health and healing.
We're asking for your help. Whether it's the spare change in your car or under your couch cushions, or even a larger donation, anything you give will help make a difference. These donations go towards Lou's living expenses, medical needs, and recovery time so she can rest and heal without the added weight of financial stress.
Lou has touched so many hearts, let's come together to remind her just how deeply she's loved, and how we are with her every step of the way.
Thank you for your kindness, your generosity and your support.
