Hi everyone!! This is my momma and if you know her, well she’s your momma too ☺️ and right now momma needs her family ❤️. For those of you that don’t know this is my beautiful and strong mommy Lourdes. When my mother was born she had to have an emergency blood transfusion and the blood that was given to her was contaminated with hepatitis C, which was not being tested for back in 1979. As the years went by my mother had no knowledge of this until one day she needed to get routine shots done for school. At the time she was only 16. Once the doctors drew her blood they were able to see that she had hepatitis C. She was clear of this in 2023, but by this time she had developed liver cirrhosis. This year she has been in and out of the hospital 3 times, and with no car of her own, she's had to pay for lyfts both to and from. This last time her kidneys were failing, affecting her pancreas and ultimately leading to the decision that she required a liver transplant. As a family, we are supporting her as best as we can, but we need as much help as we can get to cover all of the expenses that will be coming our way. Insurance hardly covers just a fraction of medical bills, and we're currently running low on money for groceries and other household bills. Aside from that and having to take time off from work, it is also my sister’s senior year which, she has been looking forward to—her last baby graduating and being the 1st to go off to college. All of this is very stressful and happening at a time where she needs to be taking care of her health and ready for when we get the call that she needs to go in for her transplant. Our Momma is a fighter and we will continue to stand by her side in this time of need.
