Driftwood Housing is truly blessed to have Louise Jackson on staff. She is the friendly voice answering our phone calls, the steady hand maintaining our records and files, and the diligent bookkeeper who keeps us on track. This year, however, has brought unexpected challenges for Louise. She has been in and out of the hospital, enduring significant pain and uncertainty.
In Louise’s own words: “Since the beginning of 2026, I have had to have fluid removed from my right lung three times. The first time, I was admitted to the hospital for a thoracentesis after an emergency room visit and spent several days there. The fluid returned a week after my release, and it was removed again through an outpatient surgical procedure. Two weeks later, the fluid had returned and had almost filled my entire right lung. I was admitted to the hospital again from the emergency room. The fluid was such that three chest tubes were inserted into my lungs to drain it all. I spent two weeks in the hospital, three of those days in the ICU.”
While Louise has insurance, her out-of-pocket expenses are significant. Our Board of Directors agreed to pay Louise while she was in the hospital, but we would like to ask our community to assist with her medical bills. Your support will help ease the financial burden on Louise and allow her to focus on her recovery. Please help as you are able. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
