Where to begin. It’s hard to believe we are here. This is all so deeply sad, and it hardly feels real that we’re trying to share a story no one should ever have to write.

Louis has been our friend since we were 14. We’ve watched him build a beautiful life with his wife, Lisa, and their sweet 4-year-old daughter, Mira. Just six weeks ago, everything changed when Lisa—only 37—was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Even then, doctors believed she had 1.5 to 2 years, and she and Louis were preparing to begin treatment.

But on the very day treatment was supposed to start, Lisa suddenly became very ill. Louis took her to the hospital, where she was admitted to the ICU. Tests revealed the unimaginable: the cancer had already spread throughout her body. Less than 24 hours later, Lisa passed away.

Lisa was the family’s primary breadwinner, and her sudden passing has left a tremendous emotional and financial void. Louis is now facing the unimaginable—grieving the love of his life, caring for Mira, and trying to keep their home steady when nothing feels steady at all.

We are hoping to ease even a small part of this weight. The funds raised will help with household bills, everyday living expenses, childcare for Mira, funeral costs, and medical bills as Louis and his daughter navigate this heartbreaking chapter.
