Friends, I don't normally ask for help for myself, but this weekend Louie became ill! My vet broke his hand and had major surgery and recommended another vet. After calling several vets, most of which aren't taking new clients, I asked for an estimate for testing he might need. The amount was staggering! (I just spent almost $2,000 on having my AC repaired and used all my 'spare cash'!) I got an estimate for testing to find the problem, and it varied from $800-$1,200 depending on results. It DOESN'T appear to be IVDD, but tests are the only way to find out. I need some help with the tests. He isn't eating but is urinating and defecating and drinking some. All good signs, thankfully, but something isn't right. I googled and found some suggestions for helping him until he can see a vet: massaging his spine and giving doses of Tramadol for pain. I am desperate! Yes, I should have gotten insurance, but he seemed so healthy, and I am very careful that he doesn't do anything detrimental to his health. Of course, it is too late now! I am praying that some of you will be able to help me out. Once, when I was injured in an almost fatal dog attack, the rescue folks came forward and made it possible for me to pay for hospitalization so I could get back to running my kennel and doing rescue. I am appealing to all my friends for help again, only this time it is for Louie. THANKS IN ADVANCE.
