Hey my name is Elaine and I am fundraising for my husband Louie Riojas, the students call him "Mr. Real house". He is a middle school science teacher at Frontier academy. He loves teaching and is a very heartbroken that he hasn't been able to be in school. On April 28th, Louie was unfortunately diagnosed with tonsillar cancer that spread to his lymph nodes in his neck. He had the PET scan done today on Wednesday May 15th, and we are still awaiting the test results. No matter what the test results show, he will be facing a long road. Surgery will be needed to remove the cancer in his tonsil and lymph nodes in his neck, which will include a very long recovery. Everyone in his life from family, friends and everyone from Frontier academy have been very supportive. He is staying positive through these trying times, but it's definitely taking its toll on him through physical and mental fatigue. It's going to be hard as a family to offset medical bills, gas, food and hotel stays, as his surgery will take place in Highlands ranch. We are very appreciative of any funds that can be raised to help us out. He doesn't really want to do this because he doesn't feel worthy of any help.
