I am reaching out to our community of family, friends, past/present/future customers, and to those who can/wish to support.

My late father/best friend, Louie Contreras who passed away April 18th suddenly, helped build and bring Cascar Machine shop into 2025. As a master machinist of 50 years he gave himself tirelessly to the community….many of times working well past 10 PM and then right back at it at 6 AM…..supporting various race teams, high school programs, customers that needed major/minor work on the spot, giving that outside of the box advice, or just giving the customer the time to voice their needs to get the best result possible.

Operating a business for 30 years comes with its hurdles. His health began to decline in 2019 and as that struggle began he made some bold personal financial decisions to keep the doors open to continue his want to support the community he grew up with and loved.

I, Will Contreras, Louie’s son, a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, have had the pleasure and gift of working/learning with/from such an amazing man, human being, and best friend for 25 years. I have adopted my dad’s drive to keep his legacy alive working 80-100 hour weeks since his sudden passing. I represent 1 of 3 machine shops whose sons have followed in their father's legacy to keep the trade alive and well in the greater Sacramento area.

Cascar Machine shop is in a vulnerable position. As the length of my dad’s sudden passing grows by each day I realize that he had stretched himself further than I realized to ensure he was able to continue to serve the community he embraced.

As the interest in becoming a machinist and making a livelihood dwindles in today’s work climate and knowing that aren’t too many of us left to support the greater Sacramento area, the need for us remains greater then ever….. I bring this to you in hopes that with your support our crew at Cascar can keep Louie’s legacy alive and well. Undoubtably at one point in our lives directly/indirectly we all need a Machine shop to support a car/home/industrial project.

My goal and focus is to restructure the shop for long term stability, invest in new equipment to improve efficiency and quality, expand our team to meet the growing needs of our community, to preserve and continue Louie’s legacy of honest craftsmanship/service and to regain a more solid financial foundation and foothold from past/present/future customers near and far or from those who have had similar goals in their pasts whose prayers were answered….mine is to continue my dad, Louie’s life’s work…..to give the best possible outcome and to support any and all who need us knuckle busters to make your projects reality.
