Hello!
My name is Lou Bishop, and I'm a senior Digital Media Practice student at Tulane University. As a senior, I have the unique opportunity to create a capstone film, which will mark the end of my journey as a Tulanian and as a DMP student.
My senior capstone, CREW LOVE, follows three young Black skaters from New Orleans as they find identity, friendship, and reconciliation in their bonds with each other and their city. Our main character, Z, is struggling with the emotional turmoil of leaving his friends and his home behind. Z will be played by my younger brother Liam, who is similarly dealing with college applications and wrapping up his senior year of high school. This film is an homage to Liam, something for him to take with him on his journey. It's also an homage to the city of New Orleans, which I have had the pleasure of calling my home for the past four years.
CREW LOVE means the world to me -- it has been in the works since my first year at Tulane, and has grown into the project I'm proud to present today. It has been selected to be a spotlight film after a gruelling and lengthy pitching process, and I couldn't be happier!
Supporting this film means supporting a young Black filmmaker on her own journey. With these funds, I will be able to pay my entirely POC cast the wages they deserve. I want to be able to make this a set to remember for my cast and my crew.
Any monetary support you are able to provide would be deeply impactful and make a difference in my film's creation. Thank you for your time and consideration!
