I'd like to take a moment to tell you about my incredible grandma, Lorraine. She's one of the most selfless women I've ever had the privilege of knowing. I'm not just saying that because she's my grandma, but because it's the honest truth. Her unwavering kindness and generosity inspire everyone around her. She never puts herself first and never complains, even in the face of adversity. Her home is always filled with love, warmth, and plenty of food - you'll never leave hungry or empty-handed! I'm sharing this with you because my grandma is currently facing a new challenge. At 89 years young, she's been diagnosed with Osteoblastic Metastatic bone cancer, which has spread to her spine, pelvis, and rib cage. Her medical team is working tirelessly to prevent the cancer from spreading to her organs, but she needs our help. In order to receive the daily cancer medication she so desperately needs, her insurance company is requiring an $1800 copay. My mom has reached out to the insurance company, and they've offered three options: pay the full amount, set up a short payment plan, or decline the medication. As a family, we're committed to exploring every option to ensure my grandma receives the care she needs.
