Lori and I have worked together for over five years, and in that time, she has become not just a coworker but a true friend. Recently, Lori was diagnosed with breast cancer. For the past three months, she has bravely faced chemotherapy, yet she continues to come to work in between treatments. Her strength and determination are truly inspiring, but the journey has been incredibly tough.
Lori lives alone and is responsible for her mortgage, bills, and all the costs that come with her treatment—co-pays, additional therapies, and the healthy groceries she needs to stay strong. The financial burden is overwhelming, especially as she tries to balance work and her health. Every day, she faces new challenges, but she does so with courage and hope.
This cause is deeply personal to me. My sister went through the same cancer diagnosis, and sadly, she did not survive. I have always wished I could have done more to help her. Supporting Lori now is my way of honoring my sister’s memory and helping a friend in the best way I know how. Lori is also a daughter, granddaughter, a sister, and a fur mom, and has many coworkers and friends who want to help but haven’t known how—this fundraiser is our way. I am hoping and praying for a positive, ongoing recovery for Lori. If you are able, please consider supporting her during this difficult time. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference in her life.
