This year, AML World Awareness Day will fall on April 21, 2026. This year, this day now carries a weight we never imagined. This time it was someone that we love. Not that anyone would wish such a horrible diagnosis on anyone, but this person is our very dear friend. This person is a devoted wife, a loving mother, a sister, and a healer. This person is the active and selfless Matriarch of her family. This person is a cherished and loyal friend. This person fiercely fights for those who cannot speak or care for themselves. And now, her body has robbed her of her ability to do the things that matter most to her, the things that matter most to all of us.
Lori Millard is one of the most dedicated people you could ever know. This kick-butt lady was still working a 40+ hour work week, not knowing why she was feeling so weak and winded. As a Registered Veterinary Technician of over 25 years, she has worked in emergency medicine and private practice. She has literally been through blood, sweat, and tears to ensure the best possible care any pet patient could receive. Her dedication to her family is unwavering. This “Mama Bear” will go to any lengths to support and protect her husband and young daughter.
She has been battling this illness for almost a full year now. Continued medical challenges are keeping her from returning to work for an indeterminate amount of time, and the expenses are adding up much too quickly!
We are asking our community to come together to help ease the financial strain on Lori and her family during this incredibly difficult time. Your donation will go toward medical expenses, daily living costs, and giving Lori the space she needs to focus on healing.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Lori and her family in your thoughts.
Let’s rally around Lori the way she has always rallied for others.
