In December 2025, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. As I prepare for surgery and the treatments ahead, I’m also facing the reality that I’ll be unable to work and after several difficult years, my savings have been completely depleted. I’m raising my grandchild and doing everything I can to keep our lives steady and secure. But without income, even the basics quickly become overwhelming.

I’ve always been a hard‑working, independent person, and the past three years have tested me in ways I never could have imagined. My mother fought her way through a serious cancer diagnosis; my father passed away, and my grandchild — struggling with severe depression and anxiety — came under my care. Through all of it, I’ve done everything I could to keep our family steady and supported. Asking for help is something I’ve avoided for as long as I could, but right now it’s the only way to keep us afloat while I focus on healing.
