Support Lori's Battle Against Uterine Cancer

My sister Lori has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Uterine Cancer. She was on vacation in Europe last October and ended up in the hospital in Germany. It was there that they discovered a 9" tumor in her uterus that had extended to her ovaries, abdominal wall, and small intestine. Lori had surgery in Germany to remove all of the cancer and spent 6 weeks in the hospital over there due to many complications. In Germany, her insurance was not valid; everything had to be paid upfront before surgery and numerous procedures as well as room and care. Lori's insurance will hopefully reimburse her at some point minus the copays, but they have spent over $75,000 as a result. Money they did not have to spend. Both Lori and Eric are proud people and would give you the shirts off their back if you needed it. They did not ever foresee the situation of asking for help. But they need it. Lori and Eric are in Pennsylvania now staying at my sister Mary's house. This is where her insurance covered her chemo treatments.

I am asking for $25,000 to help them survive while they are out here, to cover the co-pay when they are reimbursed (we all know that will take a long time) and all their emergency travel expenses. I have spoken to Lori at length about this GoFundMe. She doesn't want just random donations; Lori wants to know what you are doing with the money you send to her. Drinks on the beach? Trip to Paris? She wants to be able to imagine herself doing these things with family, friends, and even strangers. Little stories with the donation will make her happy. She needs some happiness right now along with prayers or positive thoughts. She is very emotional but also very positive. Lori will be able to update her chemo journey on this site so everyone can follow her and see how she is doing. Any amount is appreciated.
