Support Lori's Battle Against Multiple Diseases

My name is Peggy, and I’m raising funds for my daughter Lori, who is very, very sick with Crohn’s Disease, thyroid and thyroid eye disease, Cushing's disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. Once they find one autoimmune disease, many others come along. Many who know us know her dad, Alan, passed away from this horrible disease when he was 36, almost 41 years ago. Lori has had this disease pretty much her entire life; it just gets worse and worse as she gets older.
At this stage of her disease, she is in and out of the hospital more times than I can count, and the stays are longer and longer. She has at least 9-10 surgeries every year. She also has a central line that stays in her body so she and the doctors and hospital personnel can administer her many medications, as Crohn’s has a large effect on her ability to absorb medication and nutrients.
On November 14, Lori had a tooth pulled, and it did not stop bleeding all day. She was also coughing up blood. At 1 AM, I called the ambulance; she had collapsed. She was put in the Red Zone (the ICU) of the emergency department. That’s the picture seen at the beginning. SHE HAD NO BLOOD PRESSURE!!! It took a while for the doctor and nurses to get her pressure back. The doctor told me she would have been dead in about 2 hours. She spent 3 days in the cardiac Intensive Care Unit, then a few more days in a regular room before she came home. She is home and having a rough time; she’s having a hard time remembering things, has no energy, and still feels very ill. Her day consists of lying in bed or on the couch, and she’s using a wheelchair. She is in constant pain, pretty much in her entire body. This is the most devastating scenario a mother can watch happen to her child.
On top of all of this, her meds are very expensive, and she is on many. Her infusion that she gets every 4 weeks costs $20,000 an infusion.
I want to thank everyone in advance for reading this, and please share.
