Support Lorie's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
On June 9, 2024, Lorie Cook Burton was taken to the hospital where she found out she was having a stroke, which led to her having surgery the same day. Thankfully She is now home beginning the road to recovery.
Unfortunately Lorie is experiencing a financial burden due to her inability to work. Medical bills and everyday expenses are becoming more challenging as more medical needs are arising.
A little about Lorie…
Lorie is a loving mother of 5 children. She is also a caring and supportive anchor to both her family and friends.
She has been a first responder working in EMS beginning in Western PA in 1996. Since 1998 she has dedicated herself to the proper care and Emergency Medical Service of the residents of the City of Youngstown, working for Rural Metro , AMR and now EMT. During this time Lorie served as the Athletic Trainer for The Rayen School and East High Panther Football Teams. She has over 26 years of service to the Youngstown Community.
Lorie was a part of the FEMA response team sent from Ohio to New York on 9/11 serving along side FDNY in providing care for the victims and first responders.
She was a part of the Department of Defense Operation Allies providing medical care to refugees from Afghanistan after the Taliban take over.
Her accomplishments did not go unnoticed by her peers as she won the American Ambulance Association Star of Life award in 2020. Her proudest moment in her career so far was a shared shift with her son Liam on the Ambulance.
With everything that Lorie has given for her country, her community and her patients, I'm asking that we give to her in her time of need. Please help support Lorie and her children as she works to get back to the people of the community she loves.
