Please Support Lori Smith in Her Fight Against COPD and Lung Cancer

Hi, my name is Jill Davis, and I’m fundraising for my incredible sister, Lori Smith.

Lori has always been one of the strongest, kindest people I know. She's the type of person who lights up a room with her smile, helps others without hesitation, and faces life’s toughest moments with courage and grace.

Now, Lori is facing one of the hardest battles of her life.

She’s been diagnosed with Stage 4 COPD and lung cancer—a devastating combination that has turned her world upside down. As her health has declined, Lori has lost her job and, with it, her health insurance. While she now has Medicaid, it does not cover several essential medications—or even her chemotherapy treatments at this point. Her treatments have already been postponed twice due to financial and insurance barriers.

To make matters worse, Lori has been denied unemployment, and her disability application (submitted in January) is still caught in red tape, delayed by government cutbacks.

Lori needs urgent support for:

Life-saving medications not covered by Medicaid

Chemotherapy and other out-of-pocket medical costs

Transportation to and from medical appointments

Basic living expenses like rent, food, hygiene items, and utilities

Despite all this, Lori remains resilient and hopeful. But she cannot fight this battle alone.
