Hi..
I'm Haley, the daughter of Lori Marchewka, who this is for.
I am trying to raise funds to give her a memorial stone and final resting place.
She was a interesting person to say the least. Lori always supported the youth theatre community by volunteering her time on weekends. She was a constant presence at Harlem High School during the choir season and play season.
Before I graduated high school she started volunteering regularly at BraveHearts Therapeutic Riding and Education Center.
As time went on she continued to support BraveHearts with their Special Olympics every year. Along with Veteran rides, The Trail to Zero. Which helps to raise awareness of veteran suicide. She would join them in Chicago during those rides.
She in turn ended up learning to ride at BraveHearts. It became her passion in the last 10 years of her life. She was always willing to help and support in any way she could.
In the last few months of her life, she missed riding and being able to be apart of the community which had felt like a second family to her. Even though she was not able to ride she still went and spent time with the people and animals that she loved.
Lori also loved her family fiercely. She was know as the photographer. At any family event she was the one with the camera and not afraid to take the most embarrassing photos. She was single handily the reason why our family has as many memories as we do.
Her passing came as a shock to us all. No one thought that she would leave us so soon. She had open heart surgery 18 days prior and was at home recovering when she went to take a nap and passed in her sleep.
During these times, I understand that everyone is struggling financially. But, my mom does not have a memorial stone at all. When she passed, she had nothing planned or anything put away in case something like this happened. I now have had to pick up the pieces and try to put this all together.
All I want is for my mom to have a final resting place to honor her and who she was. I want anyone who knew her to be able to go and visit her if they so choose and know that it is her.
Any little bit helps in honoring Lori Marchewka.
