I'm making an urgent plea for my friend, Lori Enright, for medical bills, treatments, & to keep a roof over her head in a medical facility. We’ve known each other since high school, & given the horrible circumstances, which brought this emergency call to light, Lori is legally blind & suffers from so many conditions that we may hit every letter of the alphabet. Besides living with chronic debilitating pain, she also has been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, & PTSD. If you, or anyone you know, lives through mental & physical pain, it tends to change a person’s behavior at times. No matter what a person has done in their past, from disastrous decision-making to hurtful behaviors, which led to lost relationships, I’m appealing to your hearts, because we’ve all been there.
We grew up in Glen Cove, NY, & her family dedicated their time, services, & donations to help those in need & to enrich our community. Her dad, Phil Enright, was the nicest man you’d ever want to meet, but he was also an outspoken man who spoke his mind on causes that were close to his heart. Lori & her dad were best friends, & when she became a single mother, her dad gave her an opportunity, which helped her & his grandchild a shot at a comfortable financial future. Mr. Enright encouraged Lori to start at the bottom, initially at the financial brokerage firm of Shearson Lehman Hutton. Lori started as a Client Service Assistant & worked her way all the way up to Divisional Vice President—Compliance Manager at one of the largest branches of PaineWebber/UBS Financial Services, but eventually found her dream job at the New York Stock Exchange/FINRA in a corner office on the 28th floor. However, in 2008 she began to get sick, starting with cancer, which ultimately led to her losing her career, & eventually her co-op apartment she lived in for 36 years in Oyster Bay, NY. Any & all savings are gone, and a lifelong resident of Long Island needs our help. At any moment, she may be facing eviction from the facility that relatives found her placement & accepted all financial responsibilities until her Long Term Care Insurance kicked in. Unbeknownst to Lori, these relatives reneged on their financial & family commitment, & she was informed of this information by her current facility only 2 weeks ago! These people didn’t have the decency to let Lori know of their decision, which makes this more of an urgent matter. Because of her health status & the inability to care for herself, please, help me from making this into a life & death situation, potentially leaving her without a roof over her head. Her immediate family does not have the resources for any assistance, but she’s found another facility, which she can afford & live comfortably. I realize that rising inflation has left so many people with financial difficulties, but if enough people made just a small donation, then we can help a funny, creative, good-hearted, empathetic woman the last chance to finally get the care she needs. Thanks for reading, & if you can, repost this to your social media accounts & spread the word whenever possible. We can make it happen, so please consider making a donation. It would be greatly appreciated.
