My name is Jessica St. Amand and I’m reaching out on behalf of my mother, Lori Dowd, who has recently been diagnosed with Stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma breast cancer. For those who know my mother… you will agree that she is a strong and independent individual. She has always been the one to lend a helping hand to others and never asking for anything in return. But now she finds herself in a position where she needs support.
This January my mom will be undergoing a lumpectomy and daily radiation treatment to fight this cancer and unfortunately the out of pocket costs associated with these necessary treatments are quite significant (even after insurance). Despite her usual reluctance to ask for help, we are reaching out to her community which she has supported for many years for assistance.
We are incredibly thankful that my mom’s breast cancer was caught when it was and her prognosis is positive with the right treatment. Early detection has given us hope, but it also comes with a large financial burden. The costs for her lumpectomy, daily radiation therapy and ongoing care will add up quickly. While we are grateful for the medical care she’s receiving, the expenses associated with this endeavor are overwhelming. This is why we are asking for your support to help alleviate some of the financial strain, allowing my mom to focus on her health and recovery without the added stress of mounting bills.
We are asking for your support—whether through a donation or by simply sharing this campaign—to help ease the financial burden of her medical costs. Every contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference and will allow her to focus on what truly matters… healing and recovery.
Thank you for your kindness, love and generosity during this challenging time. We are so grateful for all the support.
With heartfelt thanks,
Jessica St. Amand
