Lori Dawn was working behind the chair when the unthinkable happened…
She had just finished up with her client, put her blowdryer down, grabbed her phone to settle up and in that moment every thing froze, including Lori.
The left side of her face started tightening up. She could not talk and started slowly collapsing to the floor.
Fortunately, her client noticed and grabbed her upright unresponsive body and guided her gently to the ground.
Lori remained unconscious until the
ambulance arrived.
I was called, and rushed to the hospital and for over an hour Lori was in a state of confusion and fear.
She could not remember anything that has just occurred.
The hospital started running tests and as time went on she was getting parts of her memory back and seemed to be improving!
About 4 hours later she had another series of intense seizures…
Because of that she was put in a medically induced coma to stop further damage to her brain tissue!
During the early morning hours of the next day,she began waking up. This time she had no idea she had another round of multiple seizures… it took nearly a day to regaining cognitive function, motor control, speech and feeling back on the left side of her body.
After days in the hospital and numerous tests, the doctors have concluded that the reason for all of these seizures is something called, Cavernous Malformation located in the left temporal lobe of her brain.
The next steps will be to see an outpatient Neurosurgeon to figure out if this needs to be removed surgically.
For the time being, she will stay on anti-seizure medications and cannot drive for at least 90 days!
The financial burden that this is placed on Lori is the last thing she needs during this difficult time….
As we all know, our medical system is not only extremely hard to navigate through, but it also comes at a very high cost!
ALL proceeds will go directly towards helping Lori get the rest she needs, without the stress of returning to work!
In addition to that, this will also help with the extremely high cost of medical expenses accumulated over the last few days.
Lori is one of the best hairdressers we ALL know and treats every single person with familial love.
Lori is an amazing mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend!
She is kind, compassionate, loving, caring, smart, beautiful and gives expecting nothing in return.
Over the last few years Lori lost both her husband, Alan, and her father to cancer shortly one after another, has battled other personal health complications and endured a lot of suffering.
On top of that, while she was grieving she also lost her supportive companion, Buddy, her dog.
While enduring all these hardships, she continued to spread kindness, support and compassion to everyone she interacted with.
Her resilient attitude, joy for life and her “I am not giving up attitude” has inspired all of us who know her.
Lori’s life testimony has pushed her to do something that she has always wanted to do! Just a few months ago Lori became a certified life coach after months of classes and daily training.
Lori’s passion for helping others is deeper than any of us could ever understand.
As hesitant as she may be for allowing us to do this Go Fund Me… giving back is something her heart truly believes in.
We believe it’s time to help her!
If you have made it this far, thank you for taking the time to read Lori’s story.
Every little bit helps!
Thank you in advance for your generosity even if all you can do is send your positive thoughts and healing prayers her way!
