For Lori Baily
Lori Bailey is my dear lifelong childhood friend, known since we were little as “Lorky & Deborookie.” Lori is the kind of person who has always shown up for others with loyalty, generosity, and love. Last week, Lori went to the ER thinking she might have appendicitis, but instead doctors found a renal mass in her kidney. After seeing a urologist, that mass was confirmed to be cancer. She is now waiting for an additional CT scan through the cancer center, and then surgery will be scheduled to remove her kidney. Because the tumor is located on the artery, doctors cannot simply remove the tumor itself, but her urologist believes removing the kidney will allow them to get all of the cancer out.
This devastating health crisis comes on the heels of an already difficult season. Lori lost her mother just over a year ago and has also been navigating a major career shift tied to the responsibilities of her mother’s estate. Now, on top of that grief and upheaval, she is facing mounting medical bills without current medical insurance, meaning her care and treatment will need to be paid out of pocket. Donations will help Lori cover urgent medical expenses, living costs, and recovery needs while she focuses on surgery and healing. Lori stood faithfully beside me during my own cancer journey, and she has poured so much into others over the years as a Mary Kay Advisor, a community builder, and a loyal friend. If Lori has ever touched your life, please consider giving, sharing, and surrounding her with support during this incredibly hard time.
