One week ago, our lives changed in an instant. Our mom, Lori, suffered a catastrophic brain injury and remains in the hospital.
She was riding her horse when she was bucked off. Mom was wearing her helmet. She was transported by Life Flight to the hospital, where she was rushed into surgery for an emergency craniectomy. She continues to remain on life support. Brain injuries are unpredictable, and this will be a long and difficult journey.
Mom has always loved horses and was an avid barrel racer. Horses have been a huge part of her life, and she poured that same passion and determination into her family and friends.
We’ve been by her side every single day making sure she’s never alone. Mom was the sole provider for her household and was still working up until this tragedy. There will be significant financial challenges ahead—from medical expenses to the unknowns of long-term recovery.
So many of you have asked, “What can we do?” The truth is, we don’t know exactly what will be needed right now. Any contributions made here will go directly toward supporting Mom’s care and her long road to recovery.
More than anything, we ask for your continued prayers for her comfort, peace, and healing.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for the love, support, and kindness you’ve shown our family during this incredibly difficult time.
