Lori has always been someone who shows up for everyone else. As her friend, I’ve watched her quietly take care of the people around her at work, at home, and in her community. She is the one who jumps in, supports others, and never asks for anything in return. Now she’s facing a loss no one should have to face. Her longtime partner and confidant, Charles, passed away suddenly, leaving her heartbroken and trying to navigate life without him right in the middle of the holiday season.

During a time when she should be able to grieve, reflect, and simply breathe, she is instead navigating all the financial responsibilities they once shared. The last thing Lori should have to worry about right now is bills or day-to-day expenses while she’s trying to process such deep grief. My hope is to cover two months of her household costs so she can have the space she needs to mourn, rest, and begin to heal without the added stress of financial pressure. This season can make loss feel even heavier, and easing this burden can give her room to focus on her emotional well-being.
