My name is Kelly Johnson, and I am the niece of Loretta Woolstrum-Dobos and cousin to her beloved daughters—Lisa, Chrissy, and Karen.
On the evening of August 29th, our family’s world was shattered.
Loretta was on her way to meet her daughters in Edinboro, PA—just a mile from the Airbnb where she was visiting near Sunset Grill Restaurant. At 6:02 PM, she sent what would be her final text message.
Her daughters waited for to arrive for dinner, but Loretta never arrived. Worried, they set out on foot to look for her. Instead of finding their mom, they came upon emergency vehicles and police blocking the road. Moments later, a call came from the hospital. Loretta had been in an accident.
Her chirldren were informed while at the hospital, Loretta was a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle. She had passed from her injuries.
The circumstances of the accident remain under investigation, but one heartbreaking truth is certain: Loretta’s life was taken far too soon.
She leaves behind three devoted daughters, four cherished grandchildren, and countless family and friends whose lives she touched with her warmth, kindness, and selflessness. Her sudden passing has left an unimaginable void in our hearts.
We are raising funds to help her daughters with funeral expenses and the many unexpected costs that come with such a tragedy. Any contribution—no matter the size—will help ease the burden on her family during this difficult time.
On behalf of Lisa, Chrissy, Karen, and our entire family, thank you for your generosity, support, and prayers as we navigate this heartbreaking loss.
With gratitude,
Kelly Johnson
